ABOUT US
The Environmental Training Centre Ltd, based in Stafford, Staffordshire was set up to provide the best practical and theory based training for environmental industries such as Arboriculture, Forestry and Landscaping.

Situated in a rural estate in a custom-built training facility in the West Midlands, with excellent access from M6 J14, its central location is ideally suited to serve Staffordshire, South Cheshire, Shropshire, West Midlands, Mid & North Wales and the North West.

Our team brings decades of experience in tree surgery contracting, consultancy and training in the UK and overseas. The staff at ETC strive to provide the most up-to-date information and quality training, giving candidates the skills and knowledge they need to successfully progress and excel in their chosen career providing employers with a safe, skilled and confident workforce.

The ETC are actively involved in the industry and seek to constantly improve standards and best practice by attending and hosting seminars, conferences and workshops to further our knowledge and skills. By expanding our knowledge and skill sets we feel we can better prepare candidates for success.

All of our courses are delivered by experienced industry experts, with vast amounts of knowledge within their industry and the fields they teach. The team are deeply involved in the industry and are committed to the continuous improvement and development of ETC by attending seminars, conferences and workshops. We feel that by expanding our knowledge and skill sets we can better prepare candidates for success.
Rob Keyzor BSc Hons (Arb)
Company Director
Rob has over 30 years in experience in Arboriculture, Forestry and Landscaping. For the past 25 years, Rob has run a successful Arb Approved contracting and consultancy business based in Staffordshire.
Rob has a wealth of theoretical and working knowledge with a keen interest in mycology, and the history of the British countryside and how it has evolved.
Specialising in CPD courses such as tree and fungi identification, clients can draw on Robs wealth of experience and time spent with trees.
Martin Spooner
NPTC/LANTRA Assessor & Instructor
Having instructed mountaineering and climbing during his extensive 22 year career in the Army, Martin left the Armed Forces and pursued a life in trees.
With 15 years of experience as an NPTC Instructor and Assessor, Martin is a key member of the team with a phenomenal amount of time on ropes and rigging systems, whether in trees, on boats or rock faces. Don't be surprised if he stops lessons to rescue bugs, birds and small creatures of every kind.

OUR COURSES
Here at the Environmental Training Centre, we pride ourselves in delivering a comprehensive range of regulated and short CPD courses in a wide range of disciplines, from chainsaw maintenance to advanced aerial courses and First Aid, BTI and ground machinery courses aimed at those looking to become Tree Surgeons, Foresters and other land-based vocations.

Our wide range of courses caters for all levels of ability and experience, from first-time chainsaw use to large tree felling and advanced aerial rigging courses.
Our courses are delivered by experienced industry experts, with vast amounts of knowledge within their industry and the fields they teach.
ETC generally provide all independently assessed training courses with assessment days close to the training dates or at a time to suit your needs.
As well as regulated industry courses and refreshers we also provide bespoke CPD courses tailored to suit you or your company needs such as advanced aerial rescue or rigging techniques, helping to up-skill your workforce and up to date with the latest techniques, equipment and industry standards ultimately increasing safety and productivity. We can also provide workshop days for your staff to enhance skills and expand your knowledge base.

When courses are booked with us, we send out all the information required to prepare students and employers and we also advise on sourcing equipment and potentially moving forward with your career.

The staff we employ are highly experienced with an emphasis on a friendly approach knowing that students learn best when they are at ease and enjoying their experience.

FROM THE M6 J14:
Leave the M6 at junction 14 and head north-west on Eccleshall Rd (A5013) signposted Eccleshall. Turn left at Great Bridgeford onto the B5405 signposted Woodseaves/Newport.
After approx 6 miles turn left onto Lodge lane, Continue on Lodge Lane for ¼ of a mile and where the centre will be on your left with a black electric gate.
FROM NEWPORT, SHROPSHIRE:
From the A41 Newport, head east on the A519 towards Eccleshall and Woodseaves. After approx 5 miles as you enter Woodseaves, turn right onto Lodge lane, after approx ½ mile, the centre will be on your right with black electric gate.
